Vivo Y51 (2020): New budget phone

Vivo is another brand that originated from China which established a name for themselves in the same price category as Oppo and Xiaomi. Vivo’s smartphones are most known for their terrific cameras in their smartphones. Due to their good sets of snappers in their device Vivo is well trusted by the users.

Release date and price

Vivo Y51 was announced on 15 September 2020 and should be released on September 19. It’s available in 3 color variants: Mystic Black, Jazzy Blue, Dreamy White. And it will only cost around $200, which is making it very affordable.

Vivo Y51 Display

Vivo Y51 comes with a 6.38-inch Super AMOLED display, having a screen resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels and a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. It has okay viewing experience and the pixel density of only 404 PPI. Screen to body ratio is 83.4% which is great for this price. Overall, it has one of the best screens for the price of only $200.

Camera Quality

Vivo Y51 has a quad-camera system: 48MP main camera, 8MP ultra-wide camera, 2MP depth camera, and 2MP macro camera. This phone can shoot 1080p videos at 30fps. The camera includes HDR, LED flash, and a panorama system. It has a 16MP main camera that can also shoot 1080p videos at 30fps. And for this price, those cameras are probably best in class.

Configuration

Vivo Y51 is provided with Snapdragon 665 chipset, which is a good mid-range octa-core chipset. It has Adreno 610 GPU, which will provide okay graphical effects. It comes with 4GB RAM and 128GB of storage. Storage also won’t be a problem because it’s expandable through micro SD for up to 256GB.

Battery

It comes with a non-removable Li-Po 4500 mAh battery, which will provide around 1-2 days of usage, while its 18W fast charger will recharge this huge battery in around an hour.

AnTuTu test

AnTuTu is a Benchmark app for android users. It gives your device an overall numerical score as well as an overall score for each test it performs. It’s useful for comparing your device’s speed and performance with other options on the market.

According to some rumors about AnTuTu scores, Vivo Y51 should get a score of around 170K, which means its better than 76% of smartphones

Should you buy it?

Absolutely yes! Vivo Y51 is a great phone for its price as it comes with Snapdragon 665 chipset, which will offer probably the best experience in this price range. It also has a quad-camera system 48MP + 8MP + 2MP + 2MP with HDR, LED FLASH, and panorama. The phone will come with an android 10, 16MP front camera, a huge 4500mAh battery, and a stunning 6.38-inch Super AMOLED display which is hardly found in this price range.
