OnePlus’ master plan to make flagship smartphones that people love is coming to fruition with the OnePlus 8. The company is known for its flagship killer phone, a smartphone with flagship components at a midrange price.

Previous OnePlus phones like the company’s most recent release, the OnePlus 7T had great specs, even introducing features in smartphones like the 90Hz display on the OnePlus 7 series. However, these phones always lacked at least one feature that made it miss the flagship mark. Wireless charging, for example, was missing in last year’s phone.

The company’s latest endeavors for the next iteration of the smartphone line is looking to make the phone a proper flagship. The OnePlus 8 is rumored to have wireless charging, not just wireless charging but 30W wireless flash charger.

According to the company, these smartphones will officially arrive on April 16th. Rumors and tips from noted tipster Ishan Agarwal expatiate that the phones will be launched alongside a new OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z, OnePlus’s latest wireless smart earphone.

The actual performance of this Warp Charge is not known but we know that it will deliver a 30W charging output.

As for the earphone, there are reports that the OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z will have a neckband design like the previous models of the company’s wireless headphones: OnePlus Bullets Wireless and Bullets Wireless 2.

The new headphones will be available in black, white, green and blue. It seems that the manufacturer decided to make headphones in the same style as the future flagship.

According to Ishan Agarwal, the headset will be able to work on a single charge for as long as 20 hours. Warp Charge fast charging support is also reported, allowing you to get an additional 10 hours of music playback in just 10 minutes.

The OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z will likely offer features like noise cancellation, Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity, and easy pairing with OnePlus phones. For charging, the earphones will likely feature a Type-C port.

OnePlus 8, OnePlus 8 Pro specifications

The OnePlus 8 Pro is rumored to get flagship-class features like a 6.78-inch Quad HD+ Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a punch-hole cutout to accommodate the selfie snapper. It seems OnePlus is moving away from the pop-up design front-facing cameras it had in the past which was actually well made in the OnePlus 7 series

The phone will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC with Adreno 650 GPU and supported by a whooping 12GB LPDDR5 RAM, and 256GB UFS 3.0 storage to keep things moving smoothly like in the previous generation phones.

It is tipped to boot Android 10 OS with OxygenOS skin. OnePlus 8 Pro is said to feature quad cameras consisting of a couple of 48MP sensors, an 8MP unit, and a 5MP lens. On the front, it is tipped to rock a 16MP selfie snapper. A 4,510 mAh battery with 30W Super Warp 30T fast charging support, 30W wireless charging, and 3W reverse wireless charging is tipped to fuel the phone.

The vanilla OnePlus 8 is rumored to flaunt a 6.55-inch full-HD+ Super AMOLED display with 90Hz refresh rate. It is said to pack up to 12GB LPDDR4X RAM and either 128GB/256GB UFS 3.0 storage.

The phone will have triple cameras at the back with a 48MP primary sensor, a 16MP secondary unit, and a 2MP unit. On the front, there’s a 16MP unit for selfies and video chats. The phone is said to house a 4,300mAh battery and support 30W Warp Charge 30T, but it will not come with wireless charging support as per previous reports. Recent renders suggest the OnePlus 8 will launch in a new Glow color option.

Oneplus looks to be gunning for Samsung’s latest flagship release, the Samsung Galaxy S20 series. The fight might be worth it for OnePlus if they get the prices for their phones right, which in the past has always been cheaper than Samsung’s.

Right now it seems the only factor influencing choosing decisions may be price. Let’s see how it plays out
