Compact Sony Phone’s are Staging a Comeback

Rumors suggest that this phone could be as small as 5.6 inches diagonal, but its more likely to be 5.8 inches. Either way, Sony Xperia 5ii will be a compact phone. Mobile Tech Guide has been waiting for weeks to get their hands on Sony’s latest flagship device, in this review you’ll find out the intricacies of the new device and whether or not this is this much anticipated device to take you through 2020.

Sony Xperia 5 ii Release Date

The prediction right now is that the release date will be in the 3rd quarter of 2020. Most likely at the time of Berlin IFA. Due to the coronavirus outbreak, it is most likely that IFA is not going to happen this year. Either way, the announcement should be in September.

Sony Xperia 5 ii Specs

Display

Sony Xperia 5 II will come with a 5.8” OLED display having screen resolution 2220×1080 pixels. It will have a great viewing experience where the pixel density of 425 PPI adds crispness and clarity. The display comes with a bezel-less design. It is most likely that it will have a 90HZ refresh rate.

Camera

The smartphone has 12MP, 12MP, and 12MP rear cameras that can capture classic pictures with a bright and clear look. At the front, there is a 8MP camera, which is a rather better camera to capture selfies.

Configuration

Sony Xperia 5 II will be provided with Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 or 865 + (5G version) chipset. Which will offer the best performance for gaming and other usages. It will have Adreno 650 GPU, which is great for the graphical effects while 4GB/6GB RAM will handle both gaming and multitasking easily. It will come with 256GB of storage, which is expandable through SD card up to 1TB.

Battery

It will come with 3400mAh, which will provide 1+ days of usage. Fast charger won’t be included but you can buy Sony’s UCH32C 18W charger for $50.

Headphone Jack is back. For now, what we know is that this phone should have a headphone jack. Which is a thing that may make you buy this phone because most of them today don’t have one.

Things we don’t know

The first thing we don’t know is color, right now we don’t know what color variant it will come with, but black and white will for sure be included. Price is another thing we don’t know but don’t expect it to be cheaper than Xperia 5($800). The third is design, but be sure it will have a bezel-less screen.

Should you buy it?

New Xperia 5 II will make a perfect compact phone for all people that are looking for a smaller screen phone with flagship specifications. It’s likely to be popular between compact phone lovers as if Sony keeps al the flagship specs mentioned this might be the compact king in 2020.

For now, we don’t know too much but overall this phone looks like it will be a great compact flagship.
