Samsung recently announced the new Samsung Galaxy S21 series at their press conference which was held on January 14. New Samsung Galaxy S series brings us three incredible smartphones: Samsung Galaxy S21, S21 Plus, and S21 Ultra. New Samsung’s flagship phones will be released and ready for delivery on January 29. When it comes to price: S21 base model will start at $799, S21+ will start at $999, and S21 Ultra the best Samsung phone available will start at $1199.

Color options

Samsung Galaxy S21 comes in 4 color variants: Phantom Gray, Phantom White, Phantom Violet, and Phantom Pink. S21+ will most likely come in 6 color variants: Phantom Black, Phantom Silver, Phantom Violet, Phantom Pink, Phantom Gold, and Phantom Red. And the ultra version also comes in 6 colors: Phantom Black, Phantom Silver, Phantom Titanium, Phantom Navy, and Phantom Brown

Specifications

Samsung S21 Display

The base model of the new S21 series is equipped with a 6.2-inch Dynamic AMOLED Display with a screen resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. This phone has a screen-to-body ratio of 87.2%, which is quite incredible. S21 Plus has the same screen but bigger since it’s a 6.7-inch one and has a slightly better screen-to-body ratio of 88.3%. On the other hand, S21 Ultra comes with a 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED Display but with a higher screen resolution of 1440 x 3200 pixels. It also has the highest screen-to-body ratio among those three since its 89.8%. They all also feature a 48HZ-120HZ adaptive refresh rate. Samsung also claims these phones are equipped with the most durable screens ever, they are equipped with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus.

Cameras

Samsung Galaxy S21 and S21 plus have the same triple camera system on the back: 12MP main camera, 64MP telephoto camera with 1.1x optical zoom, and 12MP ultra-wide camera that features Super Steady video capturing. The back camera system can capture 8k videos at 24fps, 4k videos at 30/60fps,1080p videos at 240fps, and 720p videos at 960 fps for some great slow mos.On the front, they have a single 10MP selfie camera with features such as dual video call, and Auto-HDR. A selfie camera can capture 4k videos at 30FPS or 60FPS.

On the other hand, S21 Ultra is equipped with four camera system on the back: 108MP main camera, 10MP periscope telephoto camera with 10x optical zoom, 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, and 12MP ultra-wide camera. The back camera system can capture videos at 8k@24fps, 4k@30/60fps, 1080p@240fps, and 720p@960fps. About the front, there is a single 40MP selfie camera that can capture great 4k videos at 30/60fps.

Configuration

The new Samsung Galaxy S21 phones are coming with the newest Snapdragon 888 if you are lucky enough to be living in the USA/China. If not your newest Samsung phone will come with Exynos 2100, which is only a tad weaker than the new Snapdragon. About the GPU they will come with either Adreno 660(Snapdragon 888) or Mali-G78 MP 14(Exynos 2100) depending on the chipset your phone has. S21 and S21+ have one option when it comes to RAM and that’s 8GB, and if you got an Ultra model you can choose from either 12GB/16GB of RAM. About the storage base and plus model comes with 128GB or 256GB of storage, and with ultra, you can choose from 128GB / 256GB / 512GB of storage. Choose wisely which phone you are buying in terms of storage since it’s not expandable through an SD card.

S21 Battery Capacity

The base S21 model has a normal-sized 4000 mAh Li-Po battery. S21 + has a 4800 mAh battery, and the Ultra version is equipped with a massive 5000 mAh battery. All of them are equipped with 25W fast charging, USB Power Delivery 3.0, 15W fast wireless charging, and 4.5W reverse wireless charging.

Galaxy S21 Ultra coming with a stylus

Samsung did it S Pen support is coming to the newest S21 Ultra. This means the new S21 Ultra owner will be able to use the S pen for drawing, taking notes, screenshots, photos, etc. However, there will still be a lot of things that the S Pen won’t be able to do on S21 that can do on the Note. The stylus is also not included in the box so if you own S21 Ultra you will have to buy it separately.

No charger & earphones

It’s official now, Samsung confirmed that the new Samsung Galaxy S21 series comes without a charger and earphones because of the environment. Samsung is only including a USB-C to USB-C cable in their retail box but nothing to plug it into. This implies that if you don’t own a fast-charging brick, you will have to buy one. This year Samsung reduced the price of its 25W fast charger from $35 to $19.99 so it’s some kind of relief.
