Samsung released its new entry-level Galaxy A telephone back on December 21, 2020. The lowest price we could find is only $170 which is indeed a fairly good price. New Galaxy A12 comes in a full plastic body and 4 color options: Black, White, Blue, and Red.
Unboxing
Samsung’s new budget phone from the Galaxy A lineup comes in a simple package. Besides the phone inside there you will find a 15W adapter and a USB-C cable and that’s all. no headphones no transparent case.

Display
It has a 6.5-inch PLS IPS display with a screen resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels and a 20:9 aspect ratio. It has an incredible 82.1% screen-to-body ratio, which is not seen often in this price range. The display is clear and sharp with a pixel density of 270 PPI.
Camera
The new Samsung Galaxy A12 smartphone has a quad-camera setup on the back: 48MP main camera, 5MP ultra-wide camera, 2MP macro camera, and 2MP depth camera. Those cameras feature LED flash, panorama, and HDR mode and they can shoot 1080p videos at 30 fps. About the front, there is a single 8MP selfie camera that can shoot 1080p videos at 30 fps as well.
Configuration
This phone has Mediatek MT6765 Helio P35, one of the best low-end chipsets, which will be capable of some everyday usage. The chipset itself is paired with PowerVR GE8320. This GPU and CPU combo will do an okay job and is capable of some low gaming and everyday usage. This phone comes with 3GB/4GB/6GB of ram and 32GB/64GB/128GB of storage. The memory of the phone is expandable through an SD card so storage won’t be a problem. All in all, it’s an okay phone for its price.
Battery Capacity
The Samsung Galaxy A12 has a huge 5000 mAh Li-Po battery. The phone supports 15W fast charging, which means this phone can recharge from 0%-100% in around an hour and a half. It doesn’t support any type of wireless or reverse charging.

Should you buy it?
It depends! This is really cheap phone and it won’t give you too much to work with. It’s a decent phone for $170 it gives you a 6.5-inch display, 3GB of RAM, Helio P35 chipset, and a decent camera system. Sure it won’t be able to run all the newest games and won’t be a multitasking machine but it should get some work done. So depending on your needs and budget you should think twice before buying this one. Samsung Galaxy A12 is clearly not the best, but we can say that for this price it’s a decent phone.
