The New Oppo Reno5 5G and Reno5 Pro 5G were announced on December 10. Reno5 is launched today on 5 January and the Pro model is coming on 7 January. Oppo Reno5 comes in 3 colors: Aurora Blue, Moonlight Black, and Starry Dream. On the other hand, Reno5 Pro has 4 color versions: Starry Night, Aurora Blue, Moonlight Black, and Star Wish Red. The price will be around $400 for the 10T and $500 for the Pro version.

Specifications

Display

Oppo Reno5 has a 6.43-inch OLED display with a screen resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and a 20:9 aspect ratio. This phone has a 90HZ refresh rate and incredible 600nits brightness of the screen. Screen to body ratio is approximately 88.6%, which is impressive. There is no any kind of protection on this new Oppo phone.

On the other hand, the Oppo Reno5 Pro has a 6.55-inch OLED display with the same screen resolution and aspect ratio as the base model. The screen is also featured with a 90HZ refresh rate and slightly better brightness since this display has 800nits. Screen to body ratio is the same at 88.6%, and there is also no protection.

Camera

Oppo Reno5 and Reno5 Pro have the same quad-camera setup on the back: 64MP main camera, 8MP ultra-wide camera, 2MP macro camera, and 2MP depth camera. The rear camera module features an LED Flash, HDR, and panorama mode. The camera itself can shoot videos at 4K at 30fps, and 1080p at 30/60/120 fps. On the front, those phones are equipped with a single 32MP camera that features HDR. The selfie camera can shoot videos at 1080p at 30fps.

Configuration

Oppo Reno5 is equipped with Snapdragon 765G chipset, this is one of the best 5G chipsets in mid-range. Chipset is paired with an Adreno 620 GPU, which will bring graphical effects to a great level. The phone comes with 8GB / 12GB of RAM and 128GB / 256GB of storage. Due to a lot of ram RAM and a great fast chipset, this phone will have high multitasking ability. Storage could be a problem since it’s not expandable through an SD card.

Oppo Reno5 Pro is equipped with Mediatek MT6889Z Dimensity 1000+ chipset. This chipset is compared to Snapdragon 865 chipset and we can tell that it’s just a little slower than the Snapdragon 865. Chipset is paired with a Mali-G77 MC9 GPU, which will bring graphical effects to a the best level. The phone comes with 8GB / 12GB of RAM and 128GB / 256GB of storage. Storage isn’t expandable.

Battery capacity

The base model of the Oppo Reno5 series has the 4300 mAh Li-Po battery, while the Pro model has a slightly better 4350 mAh Li-Po battery. Both of the phones support 65W fast charging, which means they can recharge their batteries in under than hour. They feature reverse charging as well.
