The global mobile phone industry has seen some incredibly ground breaking device hit the market, Samsung, Huawei, ZTE and Oppo just to name a few. Now OnePlus is planning to join them soon. The OnePlus 8 is one of the most anticipated smartphones of 2020, along with its brothers OnePlus 8 Pro and the already confirmed OnePlus 8 Lite, which are emerging as one of the most interesting and attractive model series of this year. The OnePlus 8 is expected to make a technological leap similar to what their predecessors did. As you can imagine, there is a lot of hunger for news while we wait for an official release.

Leaked alleged live photos of OnePlus 8

Just two weeks ago, an alleged live photo of the OnePlus 8 Pro was leaked thanks to the tipster “Slashleaks” who claimed to have found the picture on the official OnePlus server in Discord. In his photo you can see a camera module mounted vertically with 3 lenses, a Time of Flight (ToF) sensor to the left of the module and an LED flash just below it.

OnePlus 8 Pro Leaked Photo

However, just a few days later, the graphic designer Max. J (@MaxJmb on Twitter) sent a tweet proving that those live images of the OnePlus 8 Pro were actually fake.

OnePlus 8 Pro Release Date

Although officially there is nothing announced, rumors and internal sources suggest that the official presentation will be held in mid-April -being exact, it´s spoken of April 14-, which would be a novelty in the OnePlus history, which until now used to present its first models of each generation around May.

OnePlus 8 Pro Specifications

Just four days ago, the same portal that leaked the first renderings of the OnePlus 8 series, 91mobiles, leaked many specifications of OnePlus 8, which have turned out to be more or less what the specialized press expected. Even so, they are still impressive.

Both the standard OnePlus 8 and the OnePlus 8 Pro will have the latest and most modern high-end Qualcomm processor, the Snapdragon 865. Also, the OnePlus 8 will have a 6.55-inch AMOLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate, an integrated fingerprint sensor and a perforation to give space to the front camera. The OnePlus 8 Pro, meanwhile, will have up to 6.65 inches of screen, in addition to the other features already mentioned.

In addition, as they specified, the OnePlus 8 Lite, the company’s big bet for the mid-range market for first time in several years, will use a MediaTek Dimensity 1000 processor, which was awarded by AnTuTu as one of the most innovative chips in 2019.

Also, the OnePlus 8 Lite will have an AMOLED screen, but only with 6.4 inches and a 90Hz refresh rate, although it will include a fingerprint reader.

Sensory Magic

The standard OnePlus 8 would be offered in three variants of RAM and internal storage: 8 GB of RAM/128 GB of storage, 8 GB/256 GB and 12 GB/256 GB (this latter configuration wouldn´t be available for the OnePlus 8 Lite). The OnePlus 8 Pro is expected to reach 512 GB of storage to match the hardware of other premium models.

Both the OnePlus 8 and the OnePlus 8 Pro will be compatible with 30 W wireless charging. Both models, together with their younger brother OnePlus 8 Lite, will be compatible with 5G. Other details included in these leaks are a 4000 mAh battery (4500 mAh in the 8 Pro), Android 10 as operating system and their exact dimensions will be 159.2 x 74 x 8.6 mm.

According to the 91mobiles leak, the standard OnePlus 8 will bring three rear cameras: a 48 MP main camera added to a 16 MP secondary sensor and a 12 MP secondary one. It´s rumored that the 8 Pro will bring four rear cameras, including a Time of Flight (ToF) sensor. The front camera would be 32 MP.

Expected OnePlus 8 Pro Price

The 91mobiles leak suggests that the OnePlus 8 Lite will hit the market at a price of 520 $, while the standard OnePlus 8 would cost approximately $599 according to certain rumours. Finally, it is very likely that the OnePlus 8 Pro doesn’t cost less than $699 .
