Previous design leaks of Apple’s upcoming flagship phones, the iPhone 12 has been consistent in the fact that Apple will be going back to the old boxy design of the iPhone 5. The leaks seem plausible because the 2020 iPad pros were revamped with that same design language and it looks like that will be Apple’s preferred design queue going forward. The 2020 MacPro refresh speculated to debut at WWDC 2020 is rumored to carry the same design.

Saying that the design is carried forward from the iPhone 4 and iPhone 5 from 2010 and 2011 respectively may make it sound old and archaic but it’s far from that. The latest renders of the upcoming iPhone 12 look gorgeous. I am really looking forward to the launch.

The new set of renders has curtesy of Slovak Apple HUB svetapple surfaced online a few hours ago and they look pretty stunning.

The renders suggest that the iPhone 12 design will include flatter edges — reminiscent of the iPhone 5 and iPad Pro 2020, — a smaller notch and a possible navy blue color for the iPhone 12 Pro.

The publication made the renders specifically to illustrate the rumored new navy blue hue the phones are supposed to come with. This line of information was first uttered by leaker Max Weinbach on EverythingApplePro back in January. We’ve seen other renders with this color, but this is the first that incorporates all the other rumored features for the iPhone 12 Pro’s design in one set of renders.

The renders from svetapple show a similar frosted glass material to the Midnight Green option on the iPhone 11 Pro. The render maker says that the color is dark and may look grayer than blue from certain angles, but that’s by design.

The incredibly detailed looking renders also show a flat stainless steel frame that runs around the iPhone 12 Pro, which matches previous rumors and leaks. You’ll find sharp instead of rounded edges. The metal band is also colored to match the blue glass on the back of the phone.

The most visible change on the display front is the notch housing Appl’s Face ID technology. The notch has been shrunk on this iPhone 12 Pro render, which has a smaller notch than the one on the iPhone 11 Pro. That will be a welcome change.

On the back, there are four lenses in this iPhone 12 render, up from three on the iPhone 11 Pro. There’s a wide-angle camera, an ultra-wide camera, and telephoto lens, LiDAR sensors are also rumored to make its way into the iPhone 12 after making its debut on the 2020 iPad pro refresh. The sensor is expected to provide enhanced performance in iPhone AR apps and portrait photos.

Other rumors include a fast new A14 Bionic processor based on a 5-nanometer process, a ProMotion display with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate and a higher capacity battery. You can expect two models of the phone, a 6.1-inch iPhone 12 Pro and a 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro Max. The two iPhone 12 Pro phones would join the regular 5.4-inch iPhone 12 and the 6.1-inch iPhone 12 Max.

All four new iPhone 12 devices may not launch until the October or possibly even November time frame, due to the impact caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
