iPhone 12 series: Release date & price

iPhone 12 along with the Mini version will be released on October 23, 2020. They come in 5 color variants: Black, White, Red, Green, and Blue. Their current prices are $699 for the iPhone Mini and $799 for the new iPhone 12.

On the other hand, iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max will be released on November 13, 2020. They will come in Silver, Graphite, Gold, and Pacific Blue. The price of the iPhone 12 Pro starts at $1000, while the 12 Pro Max starts at $1100.

Specifications

iPhone 12 Display

The new iPhone Mini has a 5.4-inch Super Retina OLED display. It has a screen resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19.5: 9. Both iPhone 12 and 12 Pro have a 6.1-inch OLED Super Retina XDR display with a screen resolution of 1170 x 2532 pixels. And 12 Pro Max has a 6.7-inch OLED Super Retina XDR display with a screen resolution of 1284 x 2778 pixels. They all have an impressive viewing experience and a pixel density of around 460PPI.

Camera

This is the biggest difference between all iPhone 12 models. iPhone 12 and 12 Mini both have a dual-camera system: 12MP main camera, and a 12MP ultra-wide camera. Those phones can shoot 4k videos at 24fps/30fps/60fps.

Those two cameras are both included on the iPhone 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max as well, but they have a bonus third 12-MP lens. This new lens is a telephoto lens, which will give you a 2x optical zoom on 12 Pro and 2.5x optical zoom on the 12 Pro Max. They both have a whole new TOF 3D LiDAR which brings the photo quality to another level.

All telephones uphold huge numbers of similar camera features. Regardless of whether you have an iPhone 12 or one of the Pro models, the new NightMode should mean better pictures in low light (27% lighter pictures). Storage could be a problem since its not expandable through an SD card on either of the phones.

Battery

They all have different battery capacities: 2227 mAh (12 Mini), 2815 mAh (iPhone 12), for the more expensive ones we still don’t know the real battery capacity. All of them have 20W Fast charging which should recharge their batteries from 0% to 50% in just 30 min. They all support 15W fast charging. From now on all new iPhones comes without the charger itself, so you will either have to use your old one or buy a new one.

AnTuTu Benchmark

AnTuTu is a Benchmark app for android users. It gives your device an overall numerical score, as well as an overall score for each test it performs. It’s so useful for comparing your device’s speed and performance with other options on the market. According to AnTuTu scores, all devices will give you the same performance, because all results are around 570k which is better than 99% of the phones. As a result, they all have the same speed test time.

Which iPhone 12 you should buy?

All of the phones are pretty similar in terms of hardware but if you have a higher budget, buy either iPhone 12 Pro or 12 Pro Max because of the significantly better cameras. On the other hand, if your budget is limited, iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Mini are a great options for you.
