Huawei released P40 and P40 Pro on April 07, 2020- in 5 color variants: Silver Frost, Blush Gold, Deep Sea Blue, Ice White, and Black. Huawei P40 is currently priced at $750 for 128GB version and $929 for a 256GB version on Amazon. P40 Pro is currently priced at $900 for a 256GB version and $1200 for 512GB version on Amazon.
P40 Lite has been released on March 02, 2020- in 4 color variants: Black, Emerald Green, Light Pink, Light Blue. This model is currently priced at $230 on Amazon.
Huawei P40 comes with a 6.1-inch OLED display having a screen resolution of 1080 x 2340 and aspect ratio 19.5: 9. It has great viewing angles, pixel density of 422PPI, and 86.3% screen-to-body ratio. P40 Pro comes with a 6.58-inch OLED display with a screen resolution of 1200 x 2640 with the same aspect ratio. Pixel density is 441PPI and it also comes with a 90HZ display and 91.6% screen-to-body ratio.
On the other hand, Huawei P40 Lite comes with a 6.4-inch LTPS IPS LCD display having a screen resolution of 1080 x 2310 pixels. It has good viewing angles and a pixel density of 398 PPI. The screen-to-body ratio is nearly 83.5%.
Camera
P40 has a 50MP RYYB main camera(without optical image stabilizer), 16MP ultra-wide camera, 8MP telephoto. The 8 MP telephoto lens has a 5x hybrid zoom and OIS.
The main camera of P40 Pro is a 50MP RYYB sensor camera with an optical image stabilizer. It also has a 40MP ultra-wide lens and a 12MP periscope camera for a lossless 5x zoom and a 3D depth camera.
Huawei P40 Lite has a quad-camera setup: 48 MP main camera with a 5x digital zoom, 8MP ultra-wide camera, a 2MP macro camera, and a 2MP bokeh lens that collects depth information.
Huawei P40 and P40 Pro have Kirin 990 5G chipset, which is a great flagship chipset. It will handle both gaming and everyday usage without a problem. They both have Mali-G76 MP16 GPU, which is great for graphical effects. P40 comes in 3 versions: 6GB RAM & 128GB storage, 8GB RAM & 128GB storage, 8GB RAM & 128 GB storage. Huawei P40 Pro also comes in 3 versions: 8GB RAM & 128GB storage, 8GB RAM & 256GB storage, 8GB RAM & 512GB storage. Storage is also expandable through SD card.
On the other hand, P40 lite comes with a Kirin 810 chipset, which is a super mid-class chipset and it should handle gaming and everyday usage easily. It has a Mali-G52 MP6 GPU, which is good for graphical effects. P40 Lite comes only in one version 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, and again storage is not a problem because it is expandable through SD card.
Battery
Huawei P40 has 3800 mAh Li-Po battery, which will provide more than a day of usage. It also comes with a 22.5W fast charging. P40 pro comes with 4200 mAh Li-Po battery, which will last about a day. It also includes 40W fast charging, 27W fast wireless charging, and 27W fast reverse wireless charging. Lite version has the same 4200 mAh battery as a P40 pro, which will provide about 1-2days of usage. It also includes 40W fast charging.
AnTuTu is a Benchmark app for android users. It gives your device an overall numerical score as well as an overall score for each test it performs. It’s useful for comparing your device’s speed and performance with other options on the market.
According to AnTuTu scores, P40 and P40 Pro should give you the same performance because their scores are pretty similar P40 got 486k, and P40 Pro got 496k. On the other hand, Huawei P40 Lite will give you great performance as it got 325k on AnTuTu.
Software
As a result of a ban on trading with the US, Huawei can’t preload newly released phones with Google apps like Maps and YouTube, the Play Store or Google Assistant. New Huawei P40 phones all come with a new android 10 but without Google services. Don’t let this disappoint you, there is a chance of getting your services back, you can do in two ways with and without an USB drive.

Which one should you buy?
Huawei P40 and Huawei P40 Pro are pretty similar in terms of hardware but if you have a higher budget, buy P40 Pro because of the significantly better cameras. If you don’t care about better cameras buy P40 and save some money. On the other hand, if your budget is limited, Huawei P40 Lite is a great option for you.
